12"x12" HTV Patterns
Take your projects to a NEW level with our Printed Heat Transfer Vinyl (“HTV”) designs. The premium printed vinyl allows finishes beyond standard vinyl colors. For use on light or dark garments and soft to the touch!
Unlike regular HTV, our printed patterns do NOT come with a carrier sheet pre-applied to the front. HTV 'mask' is another term for the clear carrier sheet needed to transfer your design onto the garment and can be purchased HERE. We've included instructions below to explain in further detail. (It is very similar to the process used when working with permanent vinyl and transfer tape.)
Items You'll Need
- Pattern Vinyl Sheet
- HTV Mask
- Squeegee or other burnishing tool
- Heat Source (Heat Press recommended)
Instructions
STEP 1: Begin by placing your printed HTV pattern side up on your cutting mat (the backing of the vinyl is plain white and glossy). |

STEP 2: Very important: DO NOT MIRROR your design. Before cutting your design, we recommend performing a test cut in a corner of your vinyl to check your settings. Start with the recommended settings and adjust pressure/force as needed to ensure you’re not cutting through the backing of the HTV (see table below for cutter settings). |
STEP 3: Weed your design so that all excess vinyl is removed from the backing. |
|
|
STEP 4: This is where you’ll need your HTV mask and a squeegee. Place your HTV mask onto the patterned side of your weeded design. Once the HTV is on the masking, apply firm pressure using a squeegee from the center of the design outward to remove air bubbles and to ensure the design adheres to the masking. |
STEP 5: Taking the masking in one hand and the backing in another, in one continuous motion, peel the backing and HTV mask apart. The design should remain with the HTV mask. Tip: Squeegee the front and back if the design involves intricate cuts. |
|
|
STEP 6: Now the transfer is ready to be applied to the garment. Press the patterned HTV at 320 degrees with medium pressure for 15 seconds. Wait 7-10 seconds before peeling your mask, it should be warm to the touch but not hot. |
